Resource Center Elects New Officers

The Resource Center, a local organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism and nonprofit effectiveness in the Greater Flint area, recently elected new officers for its Board of Directors.

Dan Borton, Director of Educational Resources and Development at McLaren Regional Medical Center, was named Board President. Borton formerly served as Vice President of the Board of Directors and as chairman of the Program Committee. He is a graduate of C.S. Mott Community College and The University of Michigan.

Joining Borton as officers are Vice President Kelly Beardslee, A.C. Rochester (retired); Treasurer Tim Sanford, Bank One; and Secretary JoAnn Pastor, Genesee Intermediate School District. Ingrid Halling, Flint Area Library Cooperative Online Network (FALCON), will serve as Immediate Past President.

The Resource Center serves as a nonprofit support agency and provides management, training, volunteer, and information services to local organizations. The Center was created in 1997 through a merger of Leadership Flint, the Flint Executive Service Corps (FESC), and the United Way’s Voluntary Action Center and First Call for Help programs.
