On Thursday, April 13, 2000, the Resource Center, a nonprofit agency dedicated to promoting volunteerism, community leadership, and nonprofit excellence in Genesee County, will honor outgoing board member, Donald Misener, with the Center’s Community Connection Award.

Misener, Corporate Controller for Genesys Health System, has filled several leadership roles at the Resource Center, most recently as board treasurer and as chairman of the Finance Committee. Before joining the agency in 1997, Misener was very active in Leadership Flint, one of the Resource Center’s founding organizations.

"I am very proud to have been part of Leadership Flint and equally proud to have been a part of the development of the Resource Center and its growth. The Center makes an outstanding contribution to the greater Flint community, and I want to thank everyone who has been involved with its development."

Resource Center Board President, Ingrid Halling, said, "I have worked with Don for 11 years and will miss his sense of humor and expertise. He has been an ideal board member. "

Misener, a 25-year Genesys employee, plans to continue volunteering in other areas. Most recently, he was elected to the board of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Great Lakes Chapter.
