The Resource Center, a local organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism and nonprofit effectiveness, has been awarded a $10,000 grant by Bank One. Grant funds will be used to enhance the Center’s nonprofit training, community leadership, and volunteer referral programs.

"We’re pleased to support the Resource Center’s efforts to provide a number of very important services to the nonprofit community here in the Flint area," said Bank One City President Don Ballentine. He added, "It’s important to help build capacity within local agencies. The Resource Center’s programs are geared toward doing just that."

Bank One has been a corporate sponsor of the Resource Center since the nonprofit organization formed in 1997 through a merger of Leadership Flint, the Flint Executive Service Corps, and the United Way’s Voluntary Action Center and First Call for Help program.

Ingrid Halling, Resource Center President, said, "Bank One has been one of our strongest supporters, and I’m very happy that our relationship is continuing to develop in such a positive way."
